Our antique nihonto date back as far as the Heian Era (early 1000 A.D.) - these are one-of-a-kind museum quality authentic japanese swords, each with its own registration and certificate of authenticity (origami) from the NBTHK (Nihon Bijitsu Token Hozon Kyokai). The NBTHK is the premier sword association in Japan, and is a well-respected authority in judging the authenticity of our antique swords and their historical importance.

For those looking for a high quality katana, wakizashi or tanto, we have sourced an attractive selection of fully functional japanese samurai swords from some of the industry's most reputable makers, including Paul Chen (aka CAS Hanwei), Thaitsuki Nihonto, United Cutlery, Valiant Armoury, Cold Steel and more.

These japanese swords are handmade or factory-made using modern forging techniques and the finest materials. Steel from some of our practical katana swords include the traditional Tamahagane (Japanese steel), damascus or the modern L6/Bainite.

Renaissance Swords

The Renaissance period saw the return to lighter, one-handed swords - namely the rapier sword, whose design was borrowed from the side sword, a popular cutting and thrusting sword of the 15th-17th century. Our rapier swords reflect the styles and designs from that "modern era", when swords changed from being a military weapon to a civilian one that symbolized prestige.

These renaissance swords were designed for dueling - although unless explicitly stated, our rapiers and sabers are for decorative purposes only.
