Zonacon 2009 – Where Anime and Horror Meets

Zonacon, Florida’s very own Anime Horror Show, will be back once more and strike fear into your hearts harder! The dark side of anime along with the most horrifying creatures will emerge out of the darkness for a whole weekend of terror, thrill, excitement, and crazy fun – anime style!

Starting on Friday, dozens of fun activities await the congoers, along with surprises that will give you goosebumps! Kick back with some cooperative games or friendly head to head combat with the Gaming and Lan Room that opens at 2pm and closes at 12midnight. For some scary spin off to the comic hits, there will be a Marvel Vs DC Zombies event at 4:45pm. For the young and the young at heart, there will be a Trick or Treat in the Vendor Room, so time to loot some candies from the others, lest they want to be spooked to misery! The extreme Zombie Vs Hunter war will take place on this day as well, so round up the other survivors and gear up with guns and swords and go kick some Zombie butt! The day will be closed with some rated 18 fun, with some Hentai hits to cool you off and give you a smile in your sleep.

The Murder Mystery game on the other hand, will test your investigative minds to the test, this will be starting on Friday too, with the rehash on Saturday afternoon. A Gothic Alice in Wonderland event will also be commencing on Zonacon 2009’s Saturday, calling Goths, Steampunks, Victorian Fashion lovers, and those who love to breathe life their own version of Twisted Fairy Tales.

The Cosplay Contest will also transpire in the same day. Here’s your chance to blend in the dark and don your own version of a Death God or relive your favorite horrid Zombie look or evil characters like Hellsing, Rip Van Winkle, Alucard, and others forged from the flames of hell. Cool prizes awaits the most convincingly terrifying look, so practice those dead gazes and prepare your unique skits from six feet under. There will also be a Scream Contest, so if you think you are part-banshee with your screeching, ear-blasting screams then you will be more than welcome to compete with the other succubus’.

A scare fair will be incomplete without horror movies, and before your coffins close on Saturday night, there will be a horrorfest for everyone, followed by the Rocky Horror Picture Show in midnight.

Terrance Zdunich will be enlighten us with his new novel, the Molting, on Sunday. The vendors, gaming rooms, and all panels will be closing at 4pm on this day as well, so don’t forget to get back on the items or information that you need before the con closes another year.
