Camelot Christmas – A Winter Festival of Merriment in King Arthur’s Time

Posted in Medieval

Once again, the wonderful presenter of the North Carolina Renaissance Faire, known as the Historical Enrichment Society will be celebrating the Yuletide Season with a touch of the Renaissance in their annual Camelot Christmas. On December 5 and 6, Wake Forest will be blessed with a winter festival that’s filled with joy, through songs, dances, entertainments, various merriment activities and present the most unique gifts of the season!

You will not only get to celebrate the Christmas season with a medieval breeze, but also get to meet the royal, swords wielding Knights of the Round Table like Sir Lancelot, the legendary King Arthur, and more. Of course, the fair maidens by their sides won’t be missed, specifically Lady Guinevere and the irresistible enchantress, Lady Morgana. King Arthur’s fabled reliving is incomplete without his magical aid, the powerful wizard Merlin, who will also be there to amaze children with amazing, spells-conjuring feats.

Faires like these are an excuse to dress up and get medieval, as nobles, peasants, fairies, sorcerers and sorceresses, knights, fair maidens, and other entities from King Arthur’s reign will gather around the Olde Yule Log, so don your best attire representing the medieval times and be part of the celebration.

Vendors will be scattered throughout the fairgrounds as well, offering different arts and crafts for you to take home, as well as fun and challenging services that will keep you and your whole family entertained. Expect to see woodworks, metalworks, medieval accessories, medieval garb, and treat yourself to a cornucopia of food and drinks from the renaissance period. If you are planning to be a vendor, then seize the moment and be one in this faire, and take advantage of this prime shopping weekend. What’s even better is that if you’re an artisan demonstrating crafts, or educational displays, and a nonprofit organization, the noble people behind this event will be paying special consideration to you/your organization, unlike other faires or festivals that charge the same whether you fit in these categories or not.

Programs and further details will be announced closer to the event, and to keep track of this, visit the Camelot Christmas website.
