Scottish Swords
Claymores are unique swords originating from 16th century Scotland. The term can refer to one of two types of Scottish swords: a two-handed sword with a cross hilt and usually downward sloping arms, or a basket-hilted broadsword. The two-handed Scottish Claymore sword was used during the late Medieval and early modern periods by the Highlanders. It saw much action during the continuous clan fights and border conflicts with the English between 1500 and 1700. The later basket-hilted version was shorter and one-handed.
