Broadswords
The term broadsword refers to three types of swords: the basket-hilted sword, the arming sword, and the dao. Basket-hilted broadswords are distinguished by a protective hand guard shaped like a basket and were well-liked by civilians. Arming broad swords, which were used during the High Middle Ages, were the standard military swords of knights. The dao is a single-edged sword and among the four major weapons of China.
